Welcome

Theory into Practice into IMPACT

The HaitiOWU Initiative is a partnership between Pwoje Espwa in Les Cayes, Haiti, and the Ohio Wesleyan University community.

Pwoje Espwa (Project Hope), an orphanage complex in Haiti, houses 800 children (mostly male), and provides housing, food, clothes, health care, and education for these children.

The HaitiOWU Initiative includes students, faculty, staff, and alumni who are engaged in a long-term partnership commitment for working with Pwoje Espwa in ways that support and advance its mission.

The initiative, which formed in 2010, benefits from the counsel and support of OWU alumnus Doug Dittrick ’55, who provides a leadership role in Pwoje Espwa to assist impoverished children and youths in Haiti.
